This half-day forum
explored complex issues of social justice that urban areas face -
particularly in the metropolitan Newark and Northern New Jersey area.
Topics included: the effects of violence and crime on children;
self-identity and stigmatization; family support among former incarcerated
people; politics of a felony conviction; prison privatization; the
intersection of imprisonment and child welfare; and, a brief overview of
Cornwall's women in prison study. |
