Notes: 
1. This spreadsheet, "Northern New Jersey Housing Characteristics Data by County and Municipality, 2000," provides data from the 2000 decennial U.S. census for the eight counties of Northern New Jersey and each of their municipalities, plus totals for the eight-county region and for the state of New Jersey. 

2. The data are presented in Microsoft Excel format (2000). 

3. Housing data include the number of units and percent by occupancy status, tenure, vacancy status, race of householder, Hispanic or Latino householder and race, and age of householder. Group quarters (e.g. institutional facilities such as prisons, college dormitories, etc.) are not included. 

4. Data are arrayed in the following sequence: 1. Urban counties first (Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Essex, and Union), 2. Suburban/rural counties second (Morris, Sussex, and Warren).

 5. Data source: The source of the data is :
