Donita Devance, MCRP, joined the Cornwall Center in July 2002. Her background includes work in affordable housing, homelessness, health and social services planning, program evaluation, and community development. Prior to coming to the Cornwall Center she served as a project manager and assistant director of the Community Development Institute at the Center for Urban Policy Research on the Rutgers—New Brunswick campus. There she completed work on developing human capital, documenting effective strategies of community-based agencies, assessing the roles of community development partnerships, and evaluating transitional housing programs for homeless families.

Donita has served as a Senior Research Associate/Health Planner at Seton Hall University’s Center for Public Service and Assistant Research Director for the American Affordable Housing Institute at Rutgers. She is an active volunteer and sits on a number of boards and committees.

Donita is a graduate of the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, earning an MCRP in 1990. She is the mother of three boys.
