Janine White currently works as an Associate Program Manager at the Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies at Rutgers University-Newark. There she mainly supports the Newark City of Learning Collaborative, a collective impact initiative working to increase the population of Newark residents with postsecondary degrees, certificates, and high-quality credentials from 17% to 25% by 2025. Her work with the NCLC focuses on coordinating partners, conducting communications and fund raising, and supporting program implementation.
Prior to this position, she served as a Program Coordinator at Columbia University’s Institute for the Study of Human Rights, supporting its Education and Gender and Human Rights Programs. Beyond these roles, Janine's capacity-building work has ranged from leading human rights education and peace-building programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Georgia to teaching yoga to children and adults across New York City and New Jersey. Her areas of interest include promoting social and emotional learning and social justice education as key aspects of youth leadership development. She completed her Bachelor’s in History and German at Rutgers University and her Master's in International Affairs at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.
